Sigg Inspired Card

Here is the card that was inspired by by Sigg bottle and Kristina Werner’s Color Challenge this week. The card is 3″x6″ – the first time I’ve made this size card, and I loved it!

Not my greatest work, but I fought through it. My first problem…the only craft ink I have is Whisper White and I wanted to add a touch of color to the card. So I stamped the butterfly with the craft ink and then stamped the flowered butterfly in Pink Passion Classic Ink. It added exactly the amount of subtle pink that I wanted. While it is hard to see it in the picture, this card is a great example of how I NEED a Stamp-a-ma-jig. Up close you’d be able to see how the butterflies don’t match up well.

I then punched the corners using a square punch, and mounted the black cardstock on the white. I punched holes in the white cardstock and inserted the pink brads from the Circle Ice Rhinestone Brads. Then I got stuck. The card was so dull, and I hadn’t captured the scattering that the water bottle has. So I lounged on the couch with the dog watching a Tivo’d episode of Mad Men.

Then I remembered that I’d just gotten a container of Dazzling Diamonds! I started by adding glitter to the centers of the flowers on the butterfly and created the scatter above it. Then deciding that the bottom half of the card needed some sparkle too, I created a glitter “path” around the sentiment.

Here is the “recipe”:

Stamps: Flight of the Butterfly

Paper: Basic Grey Textured, Basic Black, Whisper White

Inks: Whisper White Craft Ink, Pink Passion Classic Ink

Accessories: 1/4″ square punch, Circle Ice Rhinestone Brads, Tombow, Dazzling Diamonds, Stampin’ Dimensionals, SNAIL
