Wishing you a glittery 2011

Christmas kind of swept past me, and while I got my Christmas Cards for friends and family done, I totally flaked on my coworkers. So I decided that I’d make them New Years cards instead. This card was inspired by the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger (the mittens) and the Glitter is Glam challenges. I love the Moxie Fab challenges because they inspire while giving a lot of room to create in my own way. It is a pretty straightforward interpretation of both challenges…stripes and accents covered in glitter. Here is the card that I’ve designed for my bosses:

To make the star, I cut 1/4″ strips of card stock in Daffodil Delight, Certainly Celery, Marina Mist, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, and Night of Navy then glued them to a piece of white cardstock. I ran that through the Big Shot with the Stars #2 die. I then used a silver gel pen to add some extra detail. I decided I wanted it to be a bit thicker, so I used the Stars #2 die to cut a chipboard star, and mounted the striped one on that.

The glittery numbers are Brushed Silver cardstock, cut using the Timeless Type dies, and covered with Chunky Essentials Silver glitter.

The card base is Soft Suede, embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots folder, and Early Espresso ink brushed over the raised dots.

Here is another look:
