Lovingly Pink

Here is another great Valentine’s Day card. I made this for the Moxie Fab Monochromatics Color Challenge and used Clean & Simple Stamping’s FTL125 sketch. The challenge was to use 3 shades of pink…I actually used 4 by accident – I grabbed the wrong marker, oops! To add some more texture I sponged Whisper White Craft ink gently to the raised parts of the embossed pieces. I also added some shimmer by dotting Illuminate Smooch on the embossed pieces and adding some small pearls on each of the letters in “LOVE”. Supplies Stamps: Broadsheet...

Butterfly Frame

Butterfly Frame

This card was quite a journey. It started as a card for a Splitcoast Stampers challenge where the image was supposed to be “entwined” in some way. The plan was for the butterfly “tails” entwine, but wow did that notwork! But I loved the rest of the card, so I added  a sentiment instead. Don’t you just love the “frame”? To make it I ran a piece of Wild Wasabi card stock through the Big Shot with the Framed Tulips embossing folder, trimmed the outside and then used my hobby blade and a ruler to cut out the middle. Then to get that aged look I sponged...

XOXO

Last week Moxie Fab World posted a series of color challenges inspired by their new Color Inspiration for Card Makers issue. I made this card using the first of those: the Bright and Bold Challenge; I used Peach Parfait, Regal Rose, Basic Black, and Whisper White. I think this is going to be my Valentine’s Day card color combo this year, so don’t be surprised if you see more cards that use it! Supplies Stamp Set: Love You Much Paper: Peach Parfait, Whisper White, In Color Patterns DSP Paper Pack Ink: Regal Rose, Basic Black, Versamark SU! Tools/Accessories:...

Wishing you a glittery 2011

Christmas kind of swept past me, and while I got my Christmas Cards for friends and family done, I totally flaked on my coworkers. So I decided that I’d make them New Years cards instead. This card was inspired by the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger (the mittens) and the Glitter is Glam challenges. I love the Moxie Fab challenges because they inspire while giving a lot of room to create in my own way. It is a pretty straightforward interpretation of both challenges…stripes and accents covered in glitter. Here is the card that I’ve designed for my bosses: To make the star,...

Fast, Elegant One Layer Christmas Card

Talk about a quick card! Peaceful Season in Always Artichoke and Cherry Cobbler on Kraft, with Gold Lame Smooch for the berries. I whipped this card up yesterday, and I’m so pleased with how it came out.

You warm my heart

Quick post, since midnight is coming up quickly. I got this stamp from a great website called Tiny Showcase. They work with up and coming artists to produce small, affordable prints of their artwork. Some of the proceeds of each weekly showcase go to charity as well. A couple months ago the print came with a stamp of the image…I couldn’t resist it. So here is today’s...
