Almost Artisan – Scrapbook Page #2: Exploring Savannah
Here is another scrapbook page that I submitted for the Artisan Award. I’m excited because I saw a it in one of the photos folks have been posting of the display boards at Convention! Other than the solid card stock, gold brads, ribbon pretty much everything on this page is now retired product. The letters were cut using the Timeless Type and Billboard Dies. I jazzed up the paper pieced ornaments at the top using Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint (which is hard to see in this photo). I ruffled the ribbon by sewing a running stitch through it and then pushing the ribbon into ruffles. You can...

For the past few years I’ve been a member of a CSA (community supported agriculture) farm share. Throughout the summer and fall I pick up a box of fruit and veggies at my local produce stand. I never know what will be in the box and it has made me a more adventurous cook. One of my favorite things to make during the summer is Gazpacho, so I thought that a recipe scrapbook page would be a great way to capture my CSA experience. This page is made mostly from paper and embellishments from the soon to be retired Write Stuff Specialty paper. The letters on the left are cut using the...

My friend Jess and I decided to stamp in the new year last night. We live far apart so we picked a time to meet online and then stamped and chatted. Kristina Werner’s Color Challenge for this week was one of our inspirations. I’m typically a card maker, but this Saturday I’m taking my friend’s daughters to go see Disney on Ice. Since there is so much pink in this challenge, I thought it would make a great scrapbook page for our girls outing! Using Flight of the Butterfly was a natural fit for such a girly page. I love how the small butter fly and flower make such a...

This was my scrapbook page for my first layout of GotSketch102. The idea is to use 3 vertical 4×6 photos with coordinating papers/accents. I decided to scrap my trip to the Mystery Spot last summer. I settled on the idea of using spots throughout, so I dug deep into my stack of retired paper for my remaining sheets of Dashing (retired). I then coordinated with So Saffron card stock and retired pattern paper. I’m a card maker, so I don’t have a ton of stamps/accessories to use for scrapbooking, so I had to make stuff up. I took Very Vanilla card stock and punched holes in it...

This is my first scrapbook page ever! I’m taking the online Got Sketch 102 scrapbook class. A friend took the 101 class and loved it, so I thought I’d give it a try. The page I made above was for a preclass challenge. They gave us a sketch and a list of items/techniques to try to use in our page. I managed to use 4: chipboard, ribbons, scallops, and bling. For the title, I covered chipboard with Whisper White Craft Ink. I wasn’t nuts about it, so I covered them in Tempting Turquoise Classic ink to match the mats underneath the photos and the designer paper. The photo...
